USO of Metropolitan Washington Launches New Holiday Campaign

USO Santa Campaign Partners Raise Funds
for Local Heroes and their Families!

November 11, 2005 Washington, DC - The USO of Metropolitan Washington is pleased to announce the debut of its new USO Santa program and the corporate partners in the region who have helped launch this holiday fundraising initiative.

Local companies such as Microsoft, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Southern Management Corporation, First Horizon Bank, Independence Air and Oakwood Worldwide have pledged their support through special events, employee giving or customer campaigns to help raise funds and awareness for the many programs that USO-Metro delivers to our brave service members and their families throughout the year.

"Microsoft is proud to partner with USO-Metro to support the critical programs that give back to the families of the brave men and women who protect our country," said Curt Kolcun, General Manager, Microsoft Federal. "We hope our participation in the USO Santa program plays a small role in helping keep families connected and brightens the holiday season for the military community."

Adds Ron Frank, President of Southern Management Corporation, "The USO Santa program gives our company another way to continue our support of USO-Metro this holiday season. We are happy to participate in this effort and are looking forward to encouraging our employees and our customers to join in as well."

The nation's capital is not only the central hub for our U.S. military services it is also an important gateway for our returning troops as they pass through our area on their way back from defending our freedoms overseas. For many of our wounded heroes, the DC area is where they and their families will spend their holidays this year, either at Walter Reed Army Medical Center or National Naval Medical Center. Funds raised by the USO Santa program will help USO-Metro serve these troops and their families.

"Our corporate partners have really stepped up to the plate to support USO-Metro and our local military community," said Elaine Rogers, President of the USO of Metropolitan Washington. "Because of their enthusiastic support and commitment, the USO can continue to provide our troops with a touch of home."
