Lockheed Martin Hosts USO Care Package Stuffing Party

Employee Volunteers Prepare 5,000 Care Packages for U.S. Troops

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO., June 22, 2006 Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) hosted a United Service Organizations (USO) Care Package stuffing party that featured 100 employees preparing 5,000 care packages. The packages will be delivered to soldiers at Fort Carson and those served by the Rocky Mountain USO Center at Denver International Airport.

This year, to show its continued support for the hundreds of thousands of military men and women deployed around the world Lockheed Martin became a four star sponsor of the Operation USO Care Package program. This is the third consecutive year Lockheed Martin and its employees have supported this program.

“Lockheed Martin is honored to partner with the USO to support our nation’s military,” said Spider Richardson, Vice President of Command & Control (C2) Systems for Lockheed Martin’s Integrated Systems & Solutions business area. “It’s important for us to show our troops that there are people at home who care about them and who appreciate everything they’re doing to protect our country.”

The USO initiated Operation USO Care Package in 2001. Since then, more than 800,000 Operation USO Care Packages have been distributed. The packages contain some of the most requested items by service members, such as prepaid international phone cards, disposable cameras, toiletries, sunscreen, snacks and playing cards.

“The success of the Operation USO Care Package program is due to the generosity of corporations like Lockheed Martin and its employees,” said Edward A. Powell, USO president and CEO. “We are enormously grateful to Lockheed Martin for its steadfast support and to its employees for their dedication to our men and women in uniform.”

For more than 65 years, the USO (United Service Organizations) has been providing morale, welfare and recreational services to U.S. military personnel and their families. The USO is a nonprofit, charitable organization, relying on the generosity of the American people to support its programs and services.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin employs about 135,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. The corporation reported 2005 sales of $37.2 billion.
